While Bhutan is one of the smallest countries in the world, its cultural diversity and richness are profound. The flight to Paro is one of the most spectacular in entire Himalayas. Paro is home to a prominent Himalayan Buddhist sacred site – Taktsang Palphug Monastery (also known as Tiger’s Nest). Gangtey valley is the habitat of rare and endangered Black Necked Cranes and is also popular for its picturesque valleys for small trekking expeditions. Bumthang is the religious heartland of the nation and home to some of its oldest Buddhist temples and monasteries. Punakha Dzong has been inextricably linked with momentous occasions in Bhutanese history. Thimphu, the Kingdom’s capital city is home to approximately 100,000 inhabitants including the Royal family.
